Randi Lynn Tanglen was born in Sidney, Montana and has degrees from Rocky Mountain College and the University of Montana. In 2002, she was a recipient of a Montana Committee for the Humanities research grant on Montana women’s community cookbooks. After receiving her doctorate from the University of Arizona in 2008, she moved to Sherman, Texas where she is now associate professor of English and chair of the Gender Studies program. Her scholarly articles have appeared in Tulsa Studies in Women’s Literature, Western American Literature, Southwestern American Literature, and various edited volumes. She is currently editing a volume on teaching western American literature with Brady Harrison of the University of Montana.
