Robert Buchko holds an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from the University of Montana, (2002) and a BA in English from the University of Wisconsin Millworker (1997). He has won two Academy of American Poets Awards (1996;1997); he was a finalist in the Washington Square Review Poetry Contest (2005); he has won a Jacob Javits Fellowship, U.S. Dept. of Education; a Robert E. McNair Research Fellowship (Philosophy), U.S. Dept. of Education, 1995; Nomination for a National Ruth Lily Award (Poetry) 1997; and won an American Indian Student Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement, University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee, 1995. He has poems published in the Sonora Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, and What Light: An Anthology of Minnesota Poets (published by the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN) as well as other publications.
